    London 2020

Nick and I were lucky enough to go to London this September. Even Covid cannot stop our yearly trip to the UK. I feel more at home in the UK then I do in the United States which is a bit weird. Covid regulations did not negatively affect our trip, it was a bit of a positive because we got to stay at the Crowne Plaza Kensington for $89 a night, which is pretty insane.

    My London Shopping Trip

Next weekend, Nick and I are going to London! It’s just for 3 days. The first day we are exploring Windsor and hopefully getting a glimpse of Meghan, Harry and the new baby at Frogmore Cottage. The second day is half-Windsor, half-London. And the third day is all about shopping in London! I have one whole day for shopping all by myself. So I have to make a game-plan. Here is my list:

    Selfridges London, Oxford St.

My goal with Selfridges is to hit up the food department. It’s like Whole Foods on steroids. Kombucha, organic everything, and the best small farm french yogurt in the world. I’m really into high-quality yogurt…it’s weird but great.

My second goal is to try on clothing from Claudie Pierlot, JBrand, Paige, Theory, and Reiss. I make a list of everything that looks good on me and then scoop it all up during the June/July sales.

    GOAT Fashion, Mayfair

I would love to have a dress from Goat Fashion. I can’t afford full-price, but I’m sure I could manage a sale item. The plan is to go to the shop, figure out my size, style and color and wait for the sale.

Oh I can’t wait to shop at Boden! They have the best customer service in the entire world. Their clothes are wonderful. I have had only positive experiences with Boden. I can’t wait to shop, shop, and shop some more! I hope there is a sale, but if there isn’t, I’ll just make a list and buy everything on offer. The best thing about Boden? The petite section!

    J.Crew, Regent St.

I need to hit up J.Crew to double check some sizing for some U.S. orders I want to place. If there is a sale, and the prices are close to American prices, then I may buy something.

    The White Company

The White Company is another wonderful U.K. store, almost equal to Pottery Barn in the U.S. I love everything they have, although they are pricey. But the sales are great, and if you have the patience you can get really nice things at a good discount. I’m looking for home decor and clothing.

    French Connection, Oxford St.

And finally, my old-fave…French Connection. I just want to pop on in and see if there are a few items that tickle my fancy.

    Zion National Park

We went on a road trip from Southern California to Zion National Park. It was amazing! It only takes 2 full days to see most of Zion (the non-scary hikes), which is nice because you can keep heading up to Bryce Canyon and Monument Valley. We hit up Bryce Canyon but it was snowing pretty heavily (see instagram) so we didn’t see much.

In Zion, we did all of the hikes that did not involve heights…which means no Angel’s Landing. We saw deer, waterfalls, and avalanches. The avalanches occurred high up on the mountains and sounded like thunder echoing through the entire valley. There were no crowds in winter when we went and the weather was adequate (some rain, but not bad.)

The one hike we didn’t get to do is ‘The Narrows’ which is on the list for next time. If you live in Socal, visiting Zion is a must. The drive was not that bad! We did L.A. to Vegas, and Vegas to Zion.

My wardrobe on the trip was from Ann Taylor Loft. The marled sweater is wonderful and still available, also in cardigan form. The top is cute and sold out, but Loft always has a great selection of cute tops. I prefer v-neck because of my long face. I love being able to wear cute, inexpensive clothes on trips. It makes me feel fresh and happy!

    Joshua Tree

We went to Joshua Tree for the first time! It is a fabulous park, perfect for an overnight trip, weekend getaway, or a stop on the way to Vegas. It only takes one day to see the entire park. You have to experience a Joshua Tree sunset. We took a wine bottle, a cigar, wine glasses and enjoyed the sunset on a large rock. I want to go back and do yoga in the silence…the silence is amazing! Nick said it best “Joshua Tree is where silence becomes a sound.” I couldn’t agree more.

The outfit is head-to-toe Ann Taylor Loft. I was so grateful to go on a shopping spree at Ann Taylor during their January sale. For $250, I got an entire capsule collection! The boots I’m wearing are a pair of UGG’s I bought years ago. What a great purchase because white boots are in this season and the boots match perfectly with this sweater.

I love the cardigan sweater so much that I bought two!
