The Daily Rudeness

It wasn’t the cancer that killed her, it was the chemo

This has bothered me for years, so I will put it on my blog:

A long time ago, I ran into an acquaintance at the grocery store. I had a quick conversation with her. She looked fit and healthy with radiant skin. Less than six months later she was dead. She had been diagnosed with cancer for the second time and succumbed shortly after beginning chemo. You don’t look that healthy and fit and die six months later. I’m sorry. It doesn’t work that way in the natural world. And I’m still upset. Though I did not know her well, I know she was a great person who deserved more time.
